EXT. A BUS STOP—NIGHT
the air is bitter; the moon is luminous
as the streetlamps' beams clamor together
for warmth. a bus pulls up, lights flashing—
the doors open with a mechanical hiss.
cue music.
the SINGER and other step off,
the bus pulls away.
CLOSE-UP: the SINGER as he walks
along the sidewalk (it has to be cold
for real so we can see his breath
as he sings).
he walks in the night and looks to his left:
PAN LEFT: GUITAR PLAYER ONE sits on a bench
playing.
PAN BACK: the SINGER.
strolls some more.
PAN UP: the MOON, bright, half.
PAN BACK: the SINGER.
he walks more, the steam from his lungs
radiates as he mouths the words.
a bus drives by, the GIRL in the window.
he looks over at her as the bus drives away.
on the roof of the bus, drummer sits and plays.
PAN BACK: the SINGER.
walks along, cars pass by,
people pass by
but he pays no mind.
PAN UP AND LEFT: GUITAR PLAYER TWO
plays in the window of an apartment
with florescent lights. the solo.
PAN BACK: the SINGER.
PAN UP AND LEFT: the GIRL
sits on the windowsill of the apartment
next door. it is still cold.
PAN BACK: the SINGER.
keeps moving, keeps breathing,
keeps smoking like a dragon.
PAN RIGHT: BASS PLAYER on the sidewalk
plucking.
PAN BACK: the SINGER
still.
CUT MUSIC.
the SINGER stops.
ZOOM OUT: the GIRL
stands in front of him.
FADE TO BLACK
