Of Courtyards
by Mark Navarro
For Carley
the way the snow sweeps the sky clean
is as it is back home for you:
darkness shrouded in white crystals;
the children's cold wet toes digging
into the terrestrial clouds—
the way the wind rustles is your hush
to fall asleep.
